Specification specific to V882 FGC is :
Service History on this car includes a recent Inspection II :
This car is very clean underneath and as with all our cars, we would be very happy to show you on our ramp. The car will come with a new MOT along with the recent all green Dick Lovett Main BMW Dealer health check where the airbag recall was carried out.
BMW launched the E46 3-Series in November 1997 with first deliveries in April 1998. The body shell of the E46 was claimed by BMW to be 70% more rigid than its E36 predecessor with aluminium used for an increased quantity of suspension components.
Here is the 170bhp 2.5-litre 323i Coupe featuring the silky-smooth straight six-cylinder engine that, despite the increasing prevalence of V8 and V12 engines, still represents something of a trademark for BMW. The sports pack suspension standard on the Coupe means we have here a very driver focused car mated with sports leather seats.
Equipment and safety levels are high, including ABS, traction control, twin front, side and head airbags, a remote control central locking, alloy wheels and fully automatic air-conditioning climate control.
Compared to the E46 Saloon, the Coupe is lower by 46mm, longer by 17mm and wider by 18mm. The windscreen raked back a further two degrees and the rear window slope steeper, making the Coupe roof both shorter and flatter. The front grille is more purposeful, bigger intakes reside in the deeper front spoiler, and even the headlights and bonnet show subtle differences. The mirrors are broader and lower in profile, with five knuckle-like fins atop each, designed to reduce wind noise. Sport Suspension is standard, lowering the ride height by 15mm. Inside, the generous shoulder, elbow and legroom mark the Coupe out as a proper four seater. Rear seat access is easy thanks to front seats that not only fold and slide forwards but actually lift off the floor to make entry even easier. To assist loading, 60/40 split-folding rear seats can be unlocked from the boot.
Driving impressions are such that at first it does not feel as if you are travelling that fast - a deceptive impression as it happens: the 170 bhp 323i is deceptively quick, its 2.5-litre engine almost whisper quiet but capable of getting to 60mph in less than eight seconds and onto 145 mph where allowed. It's not only about sheer speed however, this car flatters your driving without overtly doing so thanks to two clever features - Automatic Stability Control + Traction (ASC+T) and Cornering Brake Control (CBC).
This is still a great car to hustle along. The sports suspension and communicative steering, a BMW trademark, keeps you perfectly in touch with the road surface. Against period opposition and indeed many modern cars, the E46 BMW 3-Series is the one you wanted then and now.
A rare opportunity to acquire a very low mileage and unmolested example of this sought after model.
