Rover Mini Rio Manual, 2K Miles Only, 1994

A very rare opportunity to acquire what is effectively a 'new old stock' 1994 Mini - a dealer demonstrator subsequently used only once or twice by the first owner prior to being placed in storage (dry and heated). Even better it is the Limited Edition Mini Rio version (750 examples) of which the pure Black colour variant on offer here was the rarest (approximately 200 examples produced).

An unrepeatable opportunity to own what must be one of the lowest if not the lowest mileage Mini Rio in existence.

Only 2214 miles from new. The car was originally supplied by the long established Austin Rover dealer Wicliffe Motor Company Ltd in Stroud/Gloucester who used the car as a dealer demonstrator for the majority of the miles covered. The Mini was Gloucester registered carrying the 'DD" prefix on the number plates. An elderly lady purchased the car and after delivery she did very few miles in it and it was subsequently left in her garage and has been dry stored since 1995.

8 years later she sadly passed away and the family offered it back to the dealer, who somewhat reluctantly took it and parked it in a corner of their Cheltenham HQ showroom. 5 years ago a Mini collector stumbled across it and purchased and set about a sympathetic recommission with a fuel system flush and carburettor rebuild and installing a new old stock fuel pump and an oil and filter change. It starts on the button and runs great with no tappet noise. No other work was carried out leaving the car entirely original.

It is now ready for its next owner, apart from the fuel system recommissioning and oil service, the car is totally original and has no signs of rust on it, unheard of on non-restored Minis of this vintage. The original factory zinc plating where used is untarnished and factory underseal intact. All suspension components and nuts/bolts etc. are as new. This car would surely serve as a reference for anyone rebuilding or restoring a Mini and the panel gaps are those that you will only see from the factory.

It has never been MOT'd - this can of course be done on request for the purchaser of this car.

The Mini Rio was a special edition, comprising of 750 cars in three colours. Black is the rarest with only approximately 200 produced. An original and mint condition Rio sales brochure comes with the car.

This offers a 'Time Warp' and possibly unrepeatable opportunity to own an unmolested Mini.
