Google Review : "In the end I came away with a car that's just perfect for me. I will be keeping a keen eye on the cars they have in the future."

A car that turned Audi around in the late 1990s was the A4. The BMW 3-series had ruled the compact sports saloon sector for so long that many of its competitors had almost given up. Then the A4 arrived. What Car? magazine quickly awarded Audi its `Best Compact Executive` car award and other plaudits quickly followed.
Designated B5, this the original A4, took the Ingolstadt manufacturer back to the position it enjoyed 20 years previously, when the company's UK sales outstripped the combined efforts of Mercedes and BMW.
The range was launched in March 1995 to replace the 80 and 90-series cars. Spring 1999 saw the introduction of second generation A4 models, such as this example - though it was hard to tell the difference. Minor visual changes included a slightly more prominent front grille, revised rear tail light clusters and a new interior.
What marked the B5 out was a state-of-the-art chassis; elegant, well-proportioned looks, superb build-quality and good reliability.
An understated motorway flyer, these cars were and remain an intelligent buy as well as a desirable one.A car that finally got the measure of a BMW 3-series and certainly of any Mercedes. Wet or dry, the chassis grips like glue, inspiring confidence with its steering sensitivity and elastic ability to change direction even after you may have committed yourself to another course. It helps that the driving position is also almost faultless, thanks to a low-set dashboard and a height and reach-adjustable steering wheel and superbly comfortable height adjustable seats and automatic climate control. This is certainly a car that holds its own in modern traffic conditions and dare we say is easier to live with and manoeuvre in many scenarios. This particular example presents as new and would make an ideal commuting or station car whilst also being retro cool and yet somehow still very modern looking.
More background on the model can be found here - https://www.audi.com/en/company/history/cult-car-audi-a4.html
Being SE spec this particular outstanding example of the model benefits from a high level of standard equipment, especially for a German car of that era:
Optioned in very distinctive Jasper Green Metallic Paint (code LX6V), this car stands out on its attractive unmarked 10-spoke 16-inch alloys shod on original equipment Pirelli P6000 tyres (of which two brand new haven been fitted on the front driven wheels), but also and mainly for its time-warp condition having covered LESS THAN 17,000 miles in the hands of one family ownership.
First registered by Audi Dealer Alexander Audi Huddersfield on 15th June 2000 it was very quickly purchased by the first owner, a gentleman from Halifax who acquired it on 18th June 2000 and owned it for a further 17 years, covering an average of less than 1,000 miles a year in that time.
The car still wears the original Alexander Audi number plates and dealer sticker in the rear window.
We are told that on his sad death the car was passed on within the family after its successful MOT test in 2017 but was little used and then laid up. We subsequently acquired the car with a view to re-commission it for a new discerning owner who will appreciate what is likely a unique and unrepeatable example of the coveted A4 model line. It is now prepared and ready for sale with new MOT, full service and timing belt change.
The Service Book is part of the original wallet and contents for the car including Owner's Manual and Quick Reference Guide and Brochure.
The Service History for the car is as follows:
The car covered a further 1500 miles before being laid up. A new MOT was acquired on 6th February 2019 at mileage of 16344 with an advisory on light surface corrosion to some suspension components due to being laid up and which has since been cleaned off (though there was in truth very little to see and indeed only on the surface) - the underside of the car and springs, shocks and exhaust heatshields looking virtually brand new.
Current Mileage is 16800 which includes over 200 miles of shakedown testing by Classic Modern Cars.
A new MOT was obtained on 11th January 2020 expiring 5th February 2021.
The engine oil and brake fluid appeared fresh but in any case these were replaced and a full service carried out including coolant flush, new air filter and all hydraulic fluids checked. A brand new battery was also fitted along with correct wiper blades.
Audi recommends that the cam belt is replaced every 115,000 miles (i.e. in approximately 100,000 miles in this case!) but we have changed this out, along with tensioner, new replacement water pump and thermostat, all as a precautionary measure based on age and for peace of mind for the new keeper.
Two brand new Pirelli P6000 tyres have been fitted on the front driven wheels as originally factory installed by Audi to the car.
The car is now ready for its next keeper to use and enjoy the car in whichever way they wish. Unrepeatable.
